The 2013 Quilt Block of the Month series is here. You all asked for stars, so I'm giving you stars. A White Dwarf, a Red Giant, a Rotating Neutron Star, a Supernova - even a Luminous Blue Variable. It's a whole quilt full of stars!

Your twelfth email will have the last star pattern plus instructions to join all your blocks together into a twin-sized quilt, including instructions for layering and basting your quilt sandwich, suggestions for machine quilting, and instructions for binding.

All the star blocks will use half-square and quarter-square triangles - the most commonly used triangle units. You'll start with the easiest block (a simple Friendship Star) and progress to more difficult blocks as the year goes on. By the end of the year you'll be a star expert! And all of those star blocks make great quilts on their own. I'll include photos of sample quilts made with just those blocks in every mailing, so you'll end up with a pattern stash that could keep you busy for years!
