Happy Hippo Applique Pattern

$5.00

Isn't this happy hippo a sweetie? I designed her applique pattern especially for beginners. You can make this!

The block is nice and big - 16 inches square! That means most of the applique pieces are nice and big - and if you decide to make a full quilt it will go together pretty quickly.

You'll receive full-sized pattern pieces - nothing to enlarge or reduce. I also include a smaller pattern that fits on a single page for easy enlarging and reducing, in case you want to also use the pattern for embroidery, collage, painting, or other projects. It'd be cute to make some PJs to match the quilt - and this smiling hippo invites snuggliness. :-)

The pattern includes complete instructions with loads of step-by-step photos and links to video tutorials teaching you every skill you'll need to make this project.

The instructions in the pattern are for a quick and easy machine applique technique that looks very similar to fancy needle-turn applique, but there are also links to videos showing you how to applique with fusible adhesive or use needle-turn if you prefer the look of those methods.

With this single block you can make a wall hanging or pillow cover. Applique the design to a tote bag, a T-shirt, or anything else you can think of.

You could also repeat the same block multiple times for a quilt like the Peekaboo Bear quilt.

Or you can sign up for the Safari Quilt Block of the Month Club. Every month for 12 months you'll get a new applique block pattern of an African animal, progressing in difficulty throughout the year until you're smack in the intermediate skill level. This hippo is the second block in the series.

I'll email a link to download your PDF as soon as possible after your purchase. Please allow up to 24 hours - though I'm usually able to get it to you much sooner.
